Current Music: Lennon .....and you
So, let's see if I can get another one of these together and sent before I change my mind. I'm in Salt Lake City, and I've been here for about 36 hours. We're stopping here on our way to Sturgis as there are NO rooms available there. It's been okay. Sleep was nice, and having a couple of days off was very relaxing. Back to work tomorrow, and then Sioux Falls. Then a day off near Detroit. Woohoo!!! So, I've got a new recommendation for all of my friends. I used to play in a band with an artist named Lennon. Len had a development deal with Arista (out of NY) at the time. She did end up making a record for them (5:30 Saturday Morning) but I never felt like it was really her. She agreed to let a couple of producers take things in a different direction, and it got very heavy, industrial,loop oriented and such. The songs were still excellent, and Lennon sounded great. I just missed the angry young girl who wrote songs that were great just with her singing and playing piano. Fast forward a couple of years. Lennon has a new record out. It's called "Career Suicide" .......and it's just her and the piano. It's an AMAZING recording that goes back to the songs being just Lennon and a piano. I can't recommend this strongly enough. If you like good songs and a good singer, I recommend this record. It's not for everyone, but I think most people will enjoy it. Here's the warning. It IS angry woman music, but it's SO well done!!! I miss Lennon alot, and am glad to see that she's still out there doing it. She's a great woman who's had to go through quite a bit to get where she is........but she's down for it. So run.......don't walk.....RUN to go find "Career Suicide" by Lennon Also feel free to check Len out online.....at www.lennononline.com
